Explorer Program
One of the many events that our family enjoys participating in while visiting parks and historic sites are the Interpretative Programs, and that is all because of the Explorer Program.
The Explorer Program can be completed individually or as a family or group. There is no time limit and requirements can be completed at any park. Our girls participated at events around the state until they completed all three sections.
To earn the first patch (and then additional stars), the following three parts must be completed:
- Interpretative Study (minimum of 2)
- Interpretative Programs (minimum of 3)
- Identification
Interpretative Programs
Interpretative Programs are offered at most parks and historic sites on the weekends during the on-season (April through October). And, most focus on the plants and animals native to the park or history associated with the site.
